Etched Art Glass Handwritten Letter Sister's Love by ImaginedGlass
Etched Art Glass Handwritten Letter Sister's Love
This art glass was created using a handwritten letter by a young girl that is now unfortunately deceased.  It was a section written to her sister, and commissioned as a gift by the living sister's boyfriend.  All the artwork - flower, xo, peace sign, and 'I love you!' - were part of the side doodles created and found in the letter.  A very endearing gift.

The artwork itself is made on a 10" x 8" x 1/4" thick Starphire glass (very clear).  It rests in a simple wood base with a slot.  Some cushions are on the maple wood stand and also inset from the four corners of the glass, so it may be displayed vertical or horizontal on a mantle or coffee table.  This was done using a photo resist after cleaning up a scan of the letter.  The sandblasting was done on the front surface as a flat frost with negative images, and on the back surface with a slight depth carved into the glass.

Great Seal State of California - Etched Art Glass by ImaginedGlass
Great Seal State of California - Etched Art Glass
This is a sample etched glass art piece of a section of the Great Seal of the State of California.  The image is of Minerva, Roman goddess of wisdom, war, art, schools, and commerce.  The sandblasted glass is used to see the contrasts and make adjustments in the design for the final full image.  If this is accepted, then the finished artwork will be done on a piece of Starphire glass at 40".

The sample is a section at full scale on a piece 6" x 8" x 3/8" thick plate glass.  Done on the reverse side it is carved in stages.

Beer Bottle and Pint Glass Etched Home Brew Design by ImaginedGlass
Beer Bottle and Pint Glass Etched Home Brew Design
Etched a set of beer bottles and pint glasses for a gentleman that does his own home brewing.  His daughter did the design work with a few adjustments by me to allow for the masking to work well with the sandblasting that I did.

Please "like" me on my Imagined Glass FB Page. There's a few vids, including one that has the Gear Mechanism paperweight. Gives a little better idea of it's depth.

I also work for a stained glass company, Radiant Arts, Inc., which we do windows all over the country (even outside of the USA - especially if you want to flip the bill for our flight and accommodations :)).

In my gallery are some examples of the designs I've done personally from the artwork, painting and firing the glass, to fabrication.

First, I want to thank the wonderful Deviant, SaloGuardione saloguardione.deviantart.com/ who had suggested my Butterfly Fairy Glass imaginedglass.deviantart.com/a… for a DD.  With her suggestion I was accepted into DeviantArt's DD (Thank you to them also for choosing it) and have had many requests to share and was also featured by Talty, another kind Deviant here talty.deviantart.com/.

From all this so many of you have come by to view, +watch, comment, and share my glass art.  I would like to thank each of you individually, and I had started to as much as I could, but I'm sorry I can't get through the overwhelming amount of response.  I hope though that everyone will know and see this and understand I do really appreciate your kind words and support.  You are all absolutely still welcome to contact me, ask questions, or quietly lean back and smile, wink or nod.

This community has earned a well deserved  and a special Thank You!

Sincerest gratitude,

Brian Laughlin
